'Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark' Launches Today For All Systems

Autobots, roll out! Today, Activision and Edge of Reality are launching the next installment in the Transformers videogame franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark and they've brought along a trailer for you.

NEW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

The best word I can use to describe the trailer is 'big'. Big hits, big bots, and oh yes, big dinosaurs. Edge of Reality has pulled out all the stops and is giving you the Michael Baysian ride you have always wanted. The best part is that you direct the action this time as you choose to be either an Autobot or a Decepticon in the endless war for Cybertron. This chapter puts you in a desperate hunt for the Dark Spark, a powerful weapon that could turn the tide of all battles.

The game hits today for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U and even the Nintendo 3DS, whose version is more of a turn based strategy game than the 3rd person actioner the others are getting. The game arrives just in time for the fourth film of the Transformers franchise, Age of Extinction which hits theaters this Friday.

Kids Test Out Oculus Rift And Want It In Schools

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark continues the saga of the previous games in the War for Cybertron series and will let players choose from over 40 old and new Autobot and Decepticon characters. I do hope that dinobot is playable in game. That's all I ask.

Of special note is the multiplayer wave attack mode known as Escalation. The mode incorporates a handful of new additions, including empowering offensive and defensive utilities like turrets, decoys and barricades, while the inclusion of special mini-boss power foes from Transformers lore makes each battle even more personal.

Player progression has also evolved, offering character leveling and unlockable loadout choices that carry through both single player and multiplayer, no matter which mode players use. And newly introduced HACKs allow players to alter the core game experience, modifying factors like enemy health and behavior to their liking for greater challenge and reward. Watch huh?

Check out the action packed trailer below and be sure to pick up the game at all major retailers right now.
