Not content to release just Dead Island 2 and Dead Island Epidemic, Deep Silver has today unveiled yet another title in their popular zombie series. Escape Dead Island is on its way to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this fall and will be unlike any of the games so far.
Dead Island 2 Announced During Sony's E3 Conference- Here's the Incredible Trailer
Escape Dead Island is a single-player experience where you will play one Cliff Calo, the son of a wealthy media mogul. He travels to Banoi after hearing about the zombie outbreak from the first game and soon finds out things are a lot worse than he expected. The teaser trailer below shows that he won't just have the undead to contend with- he'll also be facing looming insanity.
Most immediately striking about the game is its new comic book-styled art. It's reminiscent of Borderlands or any other number of cel-shaded games and should give the game a much different feel than the last two.

One major thing Escape Dead Island has going for it is Anne Toole, the WGA-nominated writer of The Witcher and Emmy-winning writer of Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Dead Island is not a series known for its strong narrative (despite what the trailers might falsly indicate) so for them to get such a well-respected and awarded writer on board shows they're really taking it seriously. Considering that it won't offer the fun of playing with your friends it really needs a great story to make it something special.
Keep an eye out for more on Escape Dead Island as it gets closer to its Fall release date, and check out the teaser trailer below!
