Slightly Mad Studios Partnering With Bandai Namco To Distribute Project CARS Worldwide

Publisher Bandai Namco has announced an agreement with Slightly Mad Studios to distribute the upcoming Project CARS worldwide.

The racing title impressed on its debut with hyper-realistic graphics, and promises to bring the most "authentic, beautiful, intense, and technically-advanced racing game on the planet" to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, and PC when it releases this November.

"We are tremendously happy to be collaborating with Slightly Mad Studios on this promising title, in which community expectations are fusing with racers expertise to craft the next generation of simulation," said Alberto González Lorca, VP of Third Parties for Bandai Namco Europe.

The capitalization in the game's title stands for "Community Assisted Racing Simulator", and actually represents something essential about the game: in addition to relying on in-game community contribution, Project CARS was originally funded by fans donating to development tools rather than through a publisher. Now, though, to bring the game to retail stores worldwide, the developer is happy to partner with a major publisher.

"With a portfolio of prestigious, popular, and iconic titles under their wing, Bandai Namco are the perfect partners to bring our pioneering community-driven game to players around the world." said Ian Bell, Head of Slightly Mad Studios.

Project CARS allows you to create a driver, choose from a variety of motor sports, and compete online with a massive roster of tracks and a dynamic weather system. The title also offers deep tuning & pit stop functionality, and support for both Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus.
