Super Smash Bros 4 Release Date And News: Recap Of Latest Reveals Including American Mario Costume, Pac-man Taunt, And Smash Attacks
The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details have been consistently coming from Nintendo ahead of the release of both versions, especially after an exciting E3. The game will be out on October 3 for 3DS and this holiday season on Wii U, though we'll likely have to wait for winter to approach for a specific release date.
Nintendo revealed multiple new playable characters during and after its E3 Digital Event, introducing four fighters that include three Super Smash Bros debutants. It looks like Mr. Game & Watch is returning alongside newcomers Pac-man, Lady Palutena from Kid Icarus, and the customizable Mii Fighters. Since then, we've been shown a variety of new details, ranging from stages to character costumes.
There was a wide variety of information this week from the daily updates, and since Nintendo does not post on the weekend, it's a good time to review what we were shown over the last few days.
The week began with two consecutive days of smash attack reveals, showing off both that of the Mii Gunner and Lady Palutena. The two (Mii Gunner's side smash and Lady Palutena's up smash) share a long range in common, and Sakurai also added Palutena's Heavenly Light ability.
The rest of the reveals were more varied, including a look at the 3DS enemy Dark Emperor, which was shown alongside the Mii Fighter wearing a Mii Force helmet. The next update focused on two alternate costumes for Mario and Samus: an America-themed outfit and all-white armor respectively.
The final update of the week showed off Pac-man's taunt, Namco Roulette, which will display a random classic character from the company's history. More details will continue to be revealed next week, so keep checking back for Super Smash Bros information.
