‘Tekken 7’ Director Katsuhiro Harada Coming To SDCC, Promises Spectacular Reveals

Your SDCC Just Got A Bit Better: Tekken 7 Director Coming To San Diego

Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada (and a special guest) will be coming to San Diego Comic Con to drop some bombshells about the new Tekken game.

Tekken 7 Teaser Trailer Shows Kazumi, Heihachi

We talked about the Tekken 7 teaser trailer at EVO 2014 recently and tried to glean some story and character info from it, but all our speculations will soon be for nought, as Katsuhiro Harada himself will be coming down to San Diego for Comic Con, as he confirmed via Twitter himself.

Harada and the (as yet unnamed) special guest will be appearing at the Bandai Namco fighting games panel on the Friday (that would be July 25 for all you Tekken-lovin' con goers) from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in Room 25ABC. I'm sure we'll get at least a platform reveal from this, as Harada-san has been on record about the ease of use and adaptability of the Unreal Engine 4 while developing Tekken 7. Maybe an early demonstration? Some playtesting for a lucky bunch of fans? Let's not get too out of hand here.

Tekken Card Tournament Gets Solo Campaign Mode

For the fanboys out there, yes, I am also hoping we'll get some more juicy lore stuff regarding Heihachi's ill-fated romance with Kazuya's mom. I'm a sucker for crazy fighting game lore, and the more soap operatic, the better. I even watched the Tekken DTV movie for funsies!

Now watch Harada reveal his big plans for Lars, the next big Mishima dynasty thing. No, I kid! I promise, I kid! Come baaack!
