Hell Hath No Fury Like A Black Magic Woman Scorned: The Scourge Warlock Trailer For Neverwinter: Tyranny Of Dragons

There are two sure sellers in this world of ours: zombies and dragons. Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios, the makers of Neverwinter, have found a way to combine both. The latest trailer for the upcoming Tyranny of Dragons module highlights the Scourge Warlock and all her wickedly dark powers.

Hellraid: The Escape Review - Beautiful, Frustrating

"Wielding forgotten eldritch powers, the Scourge Warlock comes free to all players when Neverwinter: Tyranny of Dragons launches on August 14, 2014. Introducing the powerful new Curse mechanic, the Scourge Warlock focuses on summoning dangerous Soul Puppets, debuffing enemies, and dealing major damage to their foes."

Players are goingt o need all of these powerful skills, as the new dangers brought by new dragons and the growing Cult of the Dragon challenges players of all levels in the world of Faerûn.

Tyranny of Dragons is the fourth module to hit the long running Neverwinter free-to-play MMO. The most recent module, Curse of Icewind Dale, launched in May.

In honor of the upcoming module, Cryptic is holding a build you own adventure contest. Every player is encouraged to pop into the Foundry, Neverwinter's custom quest creator and make their own 15 minute long adventure that in some way uses the Cult of the Dragon. The CotD is the main reason there are all these damn dragons running around Faerûn. You can find out more details here.

The Scourge Warlock will allow players to beat back their foes through one of three individualized paths: Temptation, Damnation and Fury. Temptation steals enemies life force. Damnation sees the Scourge Warlock command a Soul Puppet and Fury, of course, just deals an insane amount of damage. The three tree leveling system that is in most MMOs is a good one; it gives enough choice to players while not overwhelming them, and allows for several different playstyles depending on the player and his or her group.

Check out the trailer below. It is quite melodramatic but very stirring. You can download and play Neverwinter, for free, here.
