The secret word of the day is 'awesome'. Because that is precisely what this news is: Awes-almost had me there. The entire series has been remastered for high definition and even includes the Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special.
Created by Paul Reubens, Pee Wee's Playhouse was a mainstay of children's programming back in the late 80s and early 90s. The Playhouse introduced us to such timeless characters as Jambi the Genie, Chairy (the chair), Captain Carl and Cowboy Curtis, who back then was just a young and hungry Laurence 'Morpheus' Fishburne.

Pee-wee's Playhouse may seem silly and dated in retrospect, but the lessons and comedy present are still relevant, and still funny to this day. Also, it helped give us one of Tim Burton's best movies ever: Pee-wee's Big Adventure!
The Blu-ray hits shelves on October 21. Also available to own on the same day is Pee-wee's Playhouse: Seasons One and Two in a high-definition 4-DVD set. Isn't that pretty...awesome?
