In A Spirited Seven Nights' Haunting, the new Genroku Legends chapter in the Muramasa Rebirth universe for the PS Vita, you are Arashimaru, a ninja who inadvertently desecrates a sacred shrine and angers a powerful demon. You now have but seven days left to live, and your own ninja clan is out to get you. Armed with a sickle and kunai, Arashimaru must escape the curse and his own former brethren or be dragged kicking and screaming to ninja hell.
Besides his sickle for ranged drag-attacks and his speedy kunai, Arashimaru can also lob bombs at opponents and summon the spirit of the serpent demon that cursed him. You'd think the demon wouldn't be down for helping a guy who desecrated his shrine but hey, the kami works in mysterious ways, I guess.

Genroku Legends is a four part series set in the Muramasa Rebirth setting, each chapter with its own protagonist and episodic stand-alone story based on Japanese folk tales and legends. The previous two installments, Fishy Tales of the Nekomata and A Cause To Daiko For, are also available on the Vita network, with Muramasa Rebirth currently free of charge for Playstation Plus members.
