Disney Infinity executive producer John Vignocchi shows us what to expect with the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes addition to the Infinity universe.

Vignocchi lays out all the details on the official Playstation blog:

"The exclusive PlayStation Collector's Edition comes with the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack, all Avengers figures and the Frost Beast Collector's Edition display. Pre-orders start soon at your favorite local retailer. Both will also be available for pre-order this week at San Diego Comic-Con at the Disney Infinity Pop-up Shop (343 4th Ave. San Diego, CA 92101) and at the Marvel booth inside the San Diego Convention Center. Additionally, for those of you who have friends that have NOT picked up a PS3 and our fans of Marvel (and Disney!), our Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes PS3 hardware bundle will be available from Sony this fall. It features a 12GB PlayStation 3 and the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack for a steal at $249.99."

It's a pretty impressive looking set, to be sure, with Cap, Thor, Hawkeye, Widow and Hulk (a disputed addition, according to Vignocchi) circling an Asgardian Frost Beast. Anyone else getting a Fantastic Four #1 vibe here, with our heroes surrounding a monster breaking out of the Earth? Could be seen as a bit of a snipe towards the Fox-licensed foursome of science heroes who will never be able to interact with the Avengers on-screen.

DC vs Marvel: Who Will Win Comic Con?

Do you think it wise to invest in a last gen console a few months into the future, even at such a low price? As a Marvel fan myself, I know we are easily enticed with promises of stuff even tangentially related to our favorite heroes (he said, having defended Agents of SHIELD as "not so bad near the end of the season, really").
