Activision today announced plans for a brand new lineup of Skylanders figures called 'Eon's Elite'. It will be a set of premium toys that hail from the original Skylanders Spyro's Adventure.
Skylanders Trap Team 'Dark Edition' Starter Pack Announced At Comic-Con, Features Ultimate Kaos Trap
This limited edition series will bring back eight collectible versions of the classic characters, including fan-favorites Spyro and Chop Chop. Those are the only two that have been revealed so far, and they were shown off on the floor at the SDCC today.
"Eon's Elite represents the most iconic characters from the original Skylanders game that started it all," said Josh Taub, senior vice president of product marketing at Activision Publishing. "These eight toys are not only premium quality but also honor the characters' strength, courage and commitment. We're excited to extend our fans' collections with this new line."

The characters will look much different than the old ones, with a metallic finish and golden base unlike any other Skylanders toys. They will also come in fancy foil packaging with a 3D lenticular background. What's more- when you play with the characters in-game you'll find out that they will be up to three times as powerful as the other playable characters. That's pretty insane.
Expect to find Eon's Elite characters in GameStop and EB Games stores in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe (in select stores) this fall, just in time for the latest game- Skylanders Trap Team.
