Destiny Beta Now Open To All Players On Every Platform, No More Download Codes Needed Ahead Of Scale Test

The Destiny beta is available on all systems, and you no longer need a secret download code to get in on the action.

Five Ways That You Can Be SUPERHOT, Too

Bungie opened up the beta to everyone last night, doing away with the need for a key to download the online shooter. The beta launched on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, and any restrictions to access are now lifted on all platforms.

"The Beta has been eye-opening so far," Bungie posted on its website. "We've watched the world of Destiny come to life. Guardians from every platform have arrived at the Tower from their battles in the wild. We have watched your adventures with great interest, and listened to your feedback. Your missions have provided us with volumes of discoveries we can use to prepare for the launch of Destiny in September."

"Help us deliver the game you deserve. Before we shut this party down, we'll welcome everyone who wants a preview of this brave new world. If you have yet to play Destiny, look for offers to download the Beta directly from your console."

Bungie is planning a scale test this weekend, and this move is likely meant to help expand the player base before then. With the large influx of players brought about by the removal of download codes, Bungie will be able to see how its system and the game handle increased traffic.

The scale test will take place tomorrow, July 26 at 2 p.m. PT. In order to motivate more people to join in, Bungie will give a reward to those who participate for the full version of Destiny when it launches.
