Diablo 3 will be delayed again according to sources. The longer than excepted wait is nothing new as Blizzard has previously announced postponements to the release. It was announced by Blizzard in last September that they needed more time to "deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectation of our players." The latest announced date of release is scheduled between anytime in Aprial or before June 30, 2012.
Blizzard sent out a public statement touching on the new release date.
"We began beta testing for Diablo III last year. After receiving feedback from the community and our internal teams, we have implemented changes to the game which we believe will greatly improve the game experience, and ensure that the final release will live up to our high expectations. We have also been testing the Auction House functionality. This testing will help ensure a smooth roll-out of this feature with the retail launch, so our players can safely and securely trade items with each other."
The company said they would like to announce more details about Diablo3 in the coming weeks
"Given the popularity of the action RPG genre, and the keen interest in Diablo III, we expect this launch to be a big opportunity for Blizzard. We can also confirm that we are targeting a Q2 launch for Diablo III," said Mike Morhaime from Activision Blizzard.
This news is very disappointing for fans. Blizzard is known for delaying, but they typically put out good quality products when they are released. Many works in the company's list, including StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.
