Super Smash Bros 4 Release Date And News: Daily Post Shows Off Game Boy-Style Start Screen For 3DS Version

Super Smash Bros Pic of the Day Shows Off Game Boy Style Start Screen For 3DS Version

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details will keep coming from Nintendo ahead of the staggered release of both versions, even after all the excitement from E3.

Super Smash Bros 3DS Trophy Gallery And Shop Revealed

The title will be out for 3DS on October 3, as Nintendo announced at the gaming conference, and this holiday season on Wii U. A specific release date for the console version will likely be forthcoming as winter approaches, but Nintendo has plenty of time to make that announcement.

Several new characters and other details were revealed at E3 as expected, including the unveiling of Lady Palutena, Pac-man, the Mii Fighters and an appearance by Mr. Game & Watch, though he has not yet been confirmed as playable. Even after these major announcements, though, series director Masahiro Sakurai will continue to give us comparatively smaller details through the official site in the form of a daily picture update.

Today's post doesn't come with too much of a description, with Sakurai letting you enjoy the above image that should speak for itself. It's presumably the game's start-up screen, an obvious nod at the Game Boy. This is all the series director had to say, most of it added in a comment on the original post:

"♪Ba-ding!♪ If you turn on the 3D effect, it really looks like there's a Game Boy inside the screen."

Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news each day, where we'll hopefully see new character reveals or a Wii U release date.
