Hyrule Warriors Releases In Japan Today; New Launch Trailer Showcases Final Playable Character Ghirahim And His Rockstar Persona [VIDEO]

Latest Hyrule Warriors Trailer Celebrates Ghirahim In Honor Of The Game's Japanese Release Today

Happy launch day, Japan! Hyrule Warriors has officially hit shelves over there. To celebrate, Nintendo and Tecmo Koei have released the last of the playable character videos. Up now is Ghirahim, one of the villains from the Wii's The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Check Out Ganondorf's Sweet DLC Threads For Hyrule Warriors

Never having played Skyward Sword, I must admit I am somewhat unfamiliar with the character. Do mark my words, the 80 second teaser definitely shows Ghirahim to be precisely that: a character. He reminds me of a Hylian David Bowie from the movie Labyrinth.

The video starts with the silver haired sorcerer teleporting this way and that before sticking his Gene Simmons-esque tongue out at us. He uses a light saber as his melee weapon but is all about group devastation through the use of his black and white checkered magic. Do give it a look, it is visually quite thrilling.

Zant's Trailer Is Mind Altering

Hopefully we'll be hearing some reports about the quality of Hyrule Warriors. We here at GameNGuide are very excited about this one and are insanely jealous that we have to wait over a month to get our grubby little North American paws on it.

Ghirahim joins Zant and Ganondorf as former villains turned playable characters. All of this team swapping does beg the question: how wicked must the game's boss, a scantily clad sorceress named Cia be if you can play as Ganondorf, the baddest guy in the Zeldaverse?

Hyrule Warriors is out today in Japan. North America will be getting a taste of the Dynasty Warriors-esque action title on September 26, exclusively for the Wii U.

Check out Ghirahim in all his tight-pants action below.
