Almost Human Studios prepares to take players into the dark depths of eerie dungeons once again, now that the sequel to their quality dungeon crawler Legend of Grimrock has hit closed beta. A teaser has also been released to mark the occasion.

Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition Player's Handbook Out Now!

The teaser doesn't show much, although the view of the island of Nux is is presented in quite a different atmosphere as opposed to the Mordor-like atmosphere of the first Grimrock's opening cinematic. The game is in closed beta now and is thus fully equipped with game features, enemies and levels present in the final game.

Grimrock 2 is "a dungeon crawling game inspired by oldschool [sic] classics of the genre while still bringing its own twists to the game. The game features survival, combat, magic, puzzles and role-playing elements. The player controls a group of prisoners that have shipwrecked on a mysterious island of Nex. Unbeknownst to the shipwrecked, the island is riddled with ancient tunnels and dungeons. The player's mission is to form a team to help survive the ever present monsters and escape from the island. During the journey the player encounters mysterious puzzles, deadly traps, ancient tombs and horrible monsters summoned by the ominous presence on the island."

The Witcher 3 Xbox Version Will Have Exclusive Physical Card Game

"We feel the game is like a raw diamond and now we're concentrating fully on polishing every aspect of the game until everything is perfect and shining" says Juho Salila of the Almost Human team.

Additionally, an iOS version of the first Legend of Grimrock is in production, with a sneak peek pictured here:

Stay tuned for information on that one, as no supported devices or release date have been announced, only that production is "well underway", in Almost Human's words.
