The will be 40 different lessons on drawing, painting, and sketching, all of which will get you on the way to illustrating your favorite characters. The title claims to be accessible to all ages with easy-to-understand tutorials, and that the skills can translate to real-life canvas.

"Drawing their way toward graduation--from the art basics of simple shapes and coloring, to exciting advanced techniques of shading and blending--players will wield a variety of tools, including markers, colored pencils, pastels and paints to illustrate popular Pokémon from all known regions. As they advance, players can unlock special lessons featuring Mega-Evolved Pokémon."

You can showcase your 2D creations on a Miiverse gallery, or save them to an SD card (and potentially print them). You'll be able to purchase the game on its October 24 release date through both retail locations and the 3DS eShop.

The original Art Academy titles have been generally well-received, so the Pokemon version should be pretty popular. The property is an outrageously successful seller, so teaching people how to draw and paint characters from the series should go over well with the system's audience.

"The Pokemon characters themselves are among the most endearing and enduring aspects of the Pokemon video games, with everyone having their own favorite," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing.

"Pokémon Art Academy lets fans deepen their connection with these iconic characters by providing detailed lessons teaching how to draw them on their Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS in a straightforward and enjoyable way."
