Popular MMO Star Trek Online is boldly going where one small Intrepid class starship has gone before. Game developer Cryptic Studios has announced the addition of three original cast members from venerable 90s show Star Trek: Voyager to the upcoming Delta Rising expansion, due out next month.

Actors Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Ethan Phillips (Neelix), and Robert Picardo (The Doctor) will join the voices of Garrett Wang (Harry Kim) and Tim Russ (Tuvok) as the majority of the tiny ship's crew. I can't imagine Kate Mulgrew is up to anything. I'm sure she has a few hours to spare to lend her bassy timbre to the game.

Tom Paris, too. But never mind that guy...

The expansion opens up the vastly underexplored Delta quadrant, the farthest reach of the Milky Way galaxy from Starfleet HQ on Earth. The trip home would take the Voyager 75 years at standard speed. Players wishing to access the Delta quadrant will not have to run into any omniscient being known as The Caretaker and be flung the distance; they can travel through an Iconian gateway and voila! Be there.

Because nothing bad ever happened when you use the main technology of a mythical race of conquerors who can transport pretty much anywhere at will, right?

Players will be able to team up with the crew of the Voyager to "explore uncharted worlds and interact with alien species...and to investigate an unknown enemy presence."

In addition to the familiar faces, Delta Rising will also raise the level cap from 51 to 60 and introduce two new titles for each faction, Admiral and Fleet Admiral for both the Federation and the recently included Romulan Empire, and General and Dahar (which is a legendary master) for the Klingons.
