Disney's Big Hero 6: New Video Game Comes To 3DS, DS This Fall With Multi-Character Platforming Gameplay
Marvel has proven to be a source of huge success for Disney, but Iron Man and Cap are only just the start of what kinds of characters Disney can bring into the spotlight. The Big Hero 6 crew is hitting the big screen this November, and publisher GameMill Entertainment has announced a new handheld game to go with it.
Disney Big Hero 6: Battle in the Bay is an upcoming title for Nintendo DS and 3DS systems that takes place after the events of the animated movie. Players take control of four of the film's main characters – Hiro Hamada, GoGo Tomago, Wasabi and Fred – for some platforming gameplay.
Each character has his or her own set of strengths and abilities such as increased strength, quick feet or advanced combat. Honey Lemon and Baymax, the adorable inflatable robot that stars in the film's trailers, will also be popping in and out of the game to help out the player.
Disney Big Hero 6: Battle in the Bay is being developed by 1st Playable Productions and published by Minneapolis-based GameMill Entertainment. This publisher/developer team has previously worked together on another handheld Disney game, Frozen: Olaf's Quest. GameMill has been involved with the publishing of several other DS/3DS cross-platform titles including Doodle Jump Adventures and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. 1st Playable Productions, formed by former members of handheld developer Vicarious Visions, has worked with Disney before to develop other games based on the company's properties.
In Battle in the Bay, players fight to save the city of San Fransokyo, a hybrid city of San Francisco and Tokyo, from an aggressive force of battlebots. The game is set to hit Nintendo DS and 3DS systems in the fall, around the time of the movie's November 7 release.
