The content for Assassin's Creed Unity's season pass is made up largely of what you'd expect: new missions, additional items and a bonus campaign storyline. It's much more significant for the series as a whole, though, as it's letting players step into the silent shoes of Chinese Assassin Shao Jun for the first time in the franchise.

Unity's Assassinations Are More Open-Ended, Game Includes Tons Of Substantive Side Content

A new video on Ubisoft's YouTube channel detailed many of the bonuses season pass subscribers will unlock in Unity. One of the bonuses is a full downloadable game available to all season pass holders. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is a new game that takes place in 16th-century China and stars female Assassin Shao Jun. Shao Jun has made a couple of appearances in the franchise's supplemental media – she famously met up with an elderly Ezio in the Assassin's Creed: Embers short movie – but she's never been playable in a game before.

The game looks more akin to the franchise's early handheld games, a kind of modified side-scroller. The trailer promises that players will still get to meet historical figures and freerun across stunning environments. It even says that Shao Jun will be whipping out some martial arts, which should prove to be quite the complement to the already deadly gear of the Assassins.

In Unity, Each Mission Has At Least 3 Different Solutions As Entire Game Adopts More RPG Feel

Shao Jun has also been mentioned in previous Assassin's Creed games, though she hasn't made an appearance. She's most notable among the American Assassins as the inventor of the rope dart, one of the more versatile weapons in the Kenway arsenal.

Beyond access to Assassin's Creed Chronicles, the season pass for Unity gives players three new missions in Paris and several dozen new items for Arno's loadout. It'll also give players access to a new campaign storyline for Arno called Assassin's Creed Unity Dead Kings. Dead Kings takes Arno to the burial place of France's newly deposed royal family, where he'll grapple with a gang of grave robbers. In this campaign, Arno will also unlock the Guillotine Gun, a weapon that is part grenade launcher and part battle-axe.

Assassin's Creed Unity is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 11. Unity's season pass is available now. GameStop lists it for $29.99.
