New One Piece Super Grand Battle X Trailer Released; 'Super Smash One Piece' 3DS Title A Very Japanese Video [NEW TRAILER]

One Piece: Super Grand Battle X, A Japanese Only 3DS Title Gets A Trailer That Can Only Be Released In Japan

Bandai Namco today launched the latest trailer for the upcoming Japanese only title One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X and it will surely be the most batshit ridiculous 5 minutes you spend today.

Monstrocards: The Next Great Party Game

In what can be best described as 'Super Smash One Piece', the sidescrolling brawler/fighter combo boasts a healthy roster of 85 combatants from all over the One Piece mythos. Two teams of two duke it out across at least 8 new landscapes in what I assume is some sort of tournament to determine who the Pirate King truly is.

The five minute trailer throws so many colors it ought to be called an art book. An enthusiastic narrator proudly boasts of the contents. The characters grin and battle. The music is rocking. The action invigorating. If we had more trailers like this here in America, I am sure the video game industry would be an even bigger seller than it already is.

There has been no word on a North American release. In fact, none of the previous titles from the Grand Battle! and its successor, Gigant Battle, have seen an English speaking shore since the first back in 2001. One Piece remains very popular, especially here in America and one would think Bandai Namco would like to port these over for an added market share.

Still, perhaps the best things in life are those we cannot truly have. Maybe we will never get to experience One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X on these amber waves of grain, so for now it can remain an absolutely perfect game. Or at the very least, an absolutely perfect, absolutely crazy trailer.

The game comes out in Japan on November 13 for Nintendo 3DS.
