My calendar reads Thursday, October 2 and it is time for this week's Nintendo eShop update. Now, I'm told there's some sort of game that comes out tomorrow. What was it again? Something something sisters? Stepchildren? Nephews? No, that doesn't sound right...

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - ohhhhh, brothers. I was close. The much anticipated 3DS version of Nintendo's premier cross-dimensional fighter series will finally release tomorrow, Friday October 3. Needless to say, we're a little bit excited about this game, so if you don't hear from us, this is the reason. The game boasts an impressive roster of dozens and dozens of Nintendo characters, from Mario to Punch Out!'s Little Mac. You can compete with your friends via local connection, or take to the internet for some online multiplayer action.

We sincerely expect an uptick in 'oh, I totally came down with some 24 hour bug' calls in to work around the globe tomorrow. You can purchase Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS either in-store or on the Nintendo eShop for $39.99.

Super Smash Bros: Coming To A College Tailgate Party Near You

Fans planning on purchasing Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS at launch can save time by downloading the free game update (ver. 1.0.2) in advance. It's available starting RIGHT NOW in the Nintendo eShop and is required for the online mode.

For the Wii U Virtual Console, the big release this week is Castlevania: Dracula X, the 1995 Super Nintendo platformer that follows Richter Belmont in his quest to destroy the forces of darkness. Unfold another chapter in the Belmont family's lineage, with over 7 stages of grim encounters and a myriad of possibilities depending on the choices that you make. You can pick it up for $7.99.

Poker Dice Solitaire Future is now $.69. Yes, you read that right. Available for the Wii U until October 30.
Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai
, not to be confused with the Wrath of Takei is now $5.99 until Oct. 23 for the 3DS
Tappingo, the intriguing combination of Minesweeper and MS Paint for the 3DS, is $1.99 until 8:59 a.m. PT on Oct. 16.
Just Dance Kids 2014's price is officially reduced to $19.99 starting Oct. 6 for the Wii U.

99Seconds, the quirky retro time manipulator is $2.49 on the Wii U.
Red Riding Hood, a child-friendly choose your own adventure that follows the classic tale, is $1.00 for the Wii U
Tenkai Knights Brave Battle, the action adventure title from Bandai Namco finally hits stores. Available next Tuesday, October 7 for the 3DS.
Color Zen, an audio and matching puzzle game; for the days you really have to just, like, zen out, man. The Demo Version is now available for the 3DS.
