Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff Halloween Update: Celebrate Ghostbusters' 30th Anniversary With Exclusive Costumes, Unlockable Firehouse!

The Ghostbusters Come To Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff!

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters with a themed event that's bound to make you feel good.

Apple Is Planning Three Major iOS 8 Updates

The latest themed event for the popular free-to-play title is currently available, so start up your game and download the update. You'll soon see Peter accidentally opening a dark portal in the brand-new Quahog cemetary, unleashing a horde of ghosts and demons on the poor city. As if Comic Con nerds weren't enough!

Peter is ready for action with a brand new unlockable Ghostbusters costume, with Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland suiting up over the course of the event. Fortunately you'll be able to take care of those ghostly invaders just by tapping on them. Each ghost will drop Spirit Vials, a new form of currency in this update that will allow you to buy new Halloween-themed buildings and decorations. (The best, by far? The Ghostbusters Headquarters.)

The more you decorate your city, the more "Spirit Points" you will earn. Demons can also be found in town that can be blasted for ingredients, which when combined with your SP can upgrade the portal and bring more demons to town, in case you want to do that for some reason, you madman.

"I've been a Ghostbusters fan since I was a kid, so it's awesome to work with such an incredible franchise," said Andrew N. Green, Head of Business Development and Operations at TinyCo and internationally acclaimed travel blogger. "Beyond that, these types of events allow us to continue delivering new and fun ways to play The Quest for Stuff."

The story this time will be told in a completely new way, as the game will offer a Choose Your Own Adventure-style branching storyline depending on your decisions.

"We are excited to collaborate with TinyCo in bringing Ghostbusters and Family Guy, two iconic brands, together for fans to enjoy on mobile devices around the globe," said Mark Caplan, Vice President of Consumer Products at Sony Pictures. "The timing of the launch is a perfect complement to all the activities we have been doing over the past few months in celebration of the film's 30th Anniversary."

The event will take place from October 2 through November 5 and give you all manner of goodies to outfit your town, as well as tons of premium items to spend your real cash on. Also- each and every week there will be an exclusive prize to unlock, with a special bonus gift to those that get them all. This first week's challenge will net you a Ghostbusters logo sign to hang. Could an Ecto-1 be in the cards?

Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff is available for free on iOS and Android.
