The Crew Release Date Delayed Until December On All Consoles, Developers Want To Implement User Feedback

Open-world racing title The Crew has been delayed until December 2, publisher Ubisoft announced today. The Crew was originally slated for a November 11 release on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

The MMO-style racing game just wrapped up a third closed beta today, its first on consoles following two PC trial runs. The publisher explained in a blog post that more time in development would allow the developers to improve the game and implement player feedback, and another beta will be coming in November.

November 11 is also a busy day for game releases: Ubisoft itself is launching both Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Rogue on that day, and 343 is set to release Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The Crew Creative Director Julian Gerighty explained the delay, and what the team hopes to accomplish.

Our Review Of The New Gauntlet

"We received a lot of valuable information from the recent PC and console betas," he said. "We are now scrutinizing all of the player feedback so we can ensure that The Crew delivers the seamless open-world experience that meets everyone's high expectations."

Upgrades implemented through this process already include a fully removable HUD, reworked collisions, tweaked police AI and chase difficulty, and better voice chat integration. The Crew is being co-developed by Ivory Tower and Ubisoft reflections.
