Infinite Crisis MOBA New Character Trailers: Stargirl, Plucky Teenage Superhero Will Kill You From Afar In Turbine's Upcoming DC Comics Game [VIDEO]

Stargirl Lands On Infinite Crisis MOBA With Two Trailers And Brief History Of The Plucky Teenage Superhero

As if somehow knowing that the east coast's largest comic book convention was occurring, the fine folks at Turbine (who created LotRO and DDO) have released the latest character video for Infinite Crisis.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition For Consoles Is Getting A Major Patch

Supeheroine Stargirl joins the ever expanding ranks of the DC Multiverse in the upcoming free to play MOBA. Stargirl, whose real name is Courtney Whitmore, is the creation of comics legend Geoff Johns back in 1999. "Unlike other heroes, the event leading Courtney Whitmore to becoming a hero wasn't tragedy. Instead, it was the breakup of her parent's marriage and her mother's remarriage to a man named Pat Dugan."

She is a member of the JSA (the Justice Society of America, kind of like the AAA version of the Justice League) and is notable, if not entirely memorable, character from the DC universe. She didn't even take the name Stargirl until being given the cosmic staff by Starman. She was previously portrayed by Britt Irvin in Smallville for a short run.

In Infinite Crisis, the video game, Stargirl acts as a crowd-control caster. Her direct abilities include the Cosmic Blast, which deals Power damage to all enemies it hits and Shooting Stars, which marks the target, then fires additional stars to do him in. Her ultimate move is Energy Conversion in which Stargirl tethers onto an enemy and converts his or her power into a shield of her own. She is an excellent group player, but with enough finesse and patience, she can be a force to be reckoned with while out on the lanes.

The video goes into details as to the best ways to utilize her many skills, which to sum up is basically: stay away, and be smart with your cooldowns and artifacts (her Cosmic Staff stacks with her passive DOTs, for instance).

You can also check out an interview with Natalie Lander, the voice of Stargirl here. Natalie, who could absolutely play Stargirl in a show or movie, gives a nice little overview of the character.

Stargirl lands on the Infinite Crisis beta on October 15. Download and play here. The roster is modest at this point, but always getting larger. Watch the character overview video below. Infinite Crisis is set to launch some time later this year.
