Verizon Gears Up For Droid Turbo Release On October 28, Begins Launch Date Countdown Clock On Website

Verizon Is Teasing The Launch Of The New Droid Turbo For Two Weeks From Now

Verizon will be revealing the upcoming Droid Turbo smartphone in two weeks on October 28, and the company has even put up a handy countdown clock on its website so we can keep track of how much time is left before the unveiling.

Verizon Pulls The Plug On Redbox Instant

The news, posted over on Android Central, marks the beginning of the end for a particularly prolific leaking season for the upcoming phone. Whereas most unannounced phones are expected to have to deal with some blurry leaked photos or leaked components to circulate around the Internet, the Droid Turbo's entire user manual was leaked last week in one big PDF, leaving little mystery left between the phone and its future user base.

The smartphone, manufactured by Motorola, sports a 5.2-inch display and a 21 megapixel camera on the back that is capable of shooting 4K-resolution video. As suggested by its name, the Droid Turbo also comes with a Motorola Turbo Charger in the box, which, according to Motorola, can give compatible Moto phones up to eight more hours of life in just 15 minutes.

T-Mobile Customers Are Getting Their Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Preorders A Couple Of Days Before The Expected Launch

According to Verizon's countdown clock, the phone is set to launch at noon on October 28. As it's likely just a launch event, Droid fans will probably have to wait as long as another week or two after the event to actually get their hands on Motorola's newest device. And as much as has been leaked already, there's still plenty to discover about the phone come launch. If the phone really is as powerful in the processing department as the leaks have suggested, then Verizon customers could have quite a functional phone to choose from if they plan on upgrading anytime soon.
