Legend Of Korra Video Game Behind The Scenes Video Shows Off Combo-Based Fighting Gameplay, Elements Unlocked One At A Time

Video Takes Players Behind The Scenes Of The Legend Of Korra Video Game And Its Epic Combos

The Legend of Korra video game is less than a week from release, and a new behind the scenes video shows fans the ins and outs of the game's combat, whether it's during a fight with the triads or in the middle of a pro-bending match.

Minecraft Hits PS Vita

The game's story takes place in between the second and third books of the series. To make sure players aren't immediately too powerful because they're playing as the Avatar, Korra has her bending taken by a mysterious man at the beginning of the game. From then on, the player needs to gradually unlock all four elements so they can be added into Korra's repertoire.

As the video shows, all four of the elements have different gameplay feels and abilities. Unlocking more elements allows Korra to combine the abilities in really effective ways. One of the video's narrators notes that, when performed expertly, Korra's combos can extend to around 45 seconds. That's a lot of damage to lay down on one unsuspecting member of the Triple Threat Triad. And with games like Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in its development history, Korra developer PlatinumGames is surely familiar with creating fun, frantic and combo-based gameplay.

The video also briefly showed off some of the game's alternate gameplay styles. Though most of the game is a beat-em-up style of game, it also includes strategic pro-bending matches and high-speed navigation gameplay while riding Naga.

The Legend of Korra is set to hit PCs, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on October 21. It will come to Xbox One and Xbox 360 the next day.
