Nintendo eShop And Virtual Console Update: Castlevania Harmony Of Dissonance, Lone Survivor Director's Cut, Trine 2 And A Whole Lot More This Week

Another week, another Thursday. That can mean only one thing: it is time for the Nintendo eShop update!

Mario Kart 8 Linkcycle! New Zelda DLC Art

While this week lacks for a major release that rhymes with Mash Mothers or Byrule Sorriers, if you perhaps have finished those games and are in need of a little palate cleanser, the week's offerings should provide just that.

The big Wii U Virtual Console of the week is Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, which continues Nintendo's month of Castlevania releases (which should absolutely be called CastleMANIA). The 2002 Game Boy Advance title has a tumultuous legacy, with critics and fans split evenly down the middle. But why not try it out yourself? Assume the role of Juste Belmont and once again take on the minions of the night. Simple? Yes, but it's Castlevania and we're coming up on Halloween. $7.99!

Talk To The Hand In Super Smash Bros Wii U

This week also brings several new titles to the Wii U eShop:

Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut - not to be confused with the Marky Mark movie of the same name, this one is all about navigating a city infested with a zombie plague. Your choices matter as you hope to escape unharmed, but how you get out may matter more than 'if' you get out. This extended edition of Jasper Byrne's horror masterpiece expands Lone Survivor's deep story with hundreds of tiny new details, more locations, more dialogue, more side quests, more craftable items, and even two completely new endings

Finally, also out this week:

Chests O' Booty - pirate themed match-three title; $1.99 (Wii U)
PING 1.5+ - play as cube attempting to take on those sideless heathens: the circles! $4.99 (Wii U eShop)
Harvest Moon 2 GBC - the classic Game Boy Color title comes to the 3DS VC for $4.99 Pyramids 2 - the pyramid puzzle platform, now features a built in Editor to create your own levels to play and share with other players. $4.99 (Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS)
The Legend of Dark Witch - a new 2D action platforming title; save the world only on your 3DS. $3.99

Next week, the Castlemania continues with the release of Aria of Sorrow on Wii U.
