Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.4 Dreams Of Ice Trailer Highlights Wealth Of New Content Hitting Servers At The End Of The Month

Square Enix has just released the promised trailer for the upcoming 'Dreams Of Ice' patch 2.4 for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The update is due out at the end of the month.

The trailer itself is presented almost without comment and beautifully highlights the new content coming to Eorzea, in which players must band together and investigate the cause of the great calamity that befell the land years and years ago.

Shiva, the Lady of Frost and one of the perennial summons from nearly all Final Fantasy titles, has been called forth and now threatens the mountains of Coerthas. She's certainly gotten an intense graphics update since I last remember her, all the way back in FF VII.

The Black Lotus: It's Worth A Lot, And Here's Why

Two established dungeons, Satasha and The Sunken Temple of Qarn will be receiving a new Hard mode for the veteran players to truly test their strength and skill. The newest dungeon is Snowcloak, the great ice wall. Once thought to be impassable, recent reports tell of a network of tunnels piercing through the heart of this crystalline impasse. Duty demands these passageways be investigated, but woe unto he who finds their creator.

In less dire news, Hildibrand returns in an all new adventure. What shenanigans has the famed inspector gotten he and his partner Nashu into this time? And for side quests of a more...gladiatorial nature, players can try their hand at the Dragon's Neck.

The Final Coil of Bahamut is an eight-man raid that will not only finish the storyline of Bahamut, another primal forced into the world, but also promises to be the most difficult challenge for adventurers to date. Suit up, grab your friends and make sure you have at least ninety minutes on your hand.

One of the most exciting new additions is the Rogue class. The dual-wielding scoundrels can utilize smoke bombs and turn invisible, and if you care deeply enough about the shadowy arts you can unlock the Ninja job at later levels. Ninjas! In Final Fantasy!
