The folks at PlayStation Access have put up a 10-minute commented gameplay video all about co-op in Far Cry 4, in which they show themselves teaming up to kill enemies, take down forts and simply explore Kyrat.

Unlike in Far Cry 3, the co-op gameplay in Far Cry 4 takes place on the same huge map as the single-player campaign. The co-op is completely open-world, meaning your friend can drop in on your game just to hang out and explore the Himalayan wilderness. There are co-op missions that you and your friends can tackle, but it's not required. You're allowed to simply wander the map – there doesn't seem to be a limit to how far away you can get from each other – and come up with your own goals, like assembling your own elephant convoy.
Of course, when you do decide to team up and take down an enemy fortress, a feat not recommended for solo players according to the video, Far Cry 4's co-op mechanics make coordinating actions and strategizing easy. Like in Far Cry 3, hovering over an enemy with your camera will allow you to mark him and track his movements for the rest of the encounter. In multiplayer, if one person scans an enemy, he shows up for all players. Having all of your teammates keep their eyes open is an easy way to make sure nobody is surprised by an unseen enemy.
With different vehicles like the one-man gyrocopter, players can even coordinate stealth attacks by having one player take a position as the eye in the sky and feed information to the players on the ground.
This being a PlayStation 4 demo, the video also makes sure to mention that buying the game for either the PS4 or PS3 will get players the Keys to Kyrat, a collection of 10 keys you can send friends to give them a free two-hour trial period in Kyrat, so they can join you in your reckless destruction and general freedom fighting even if they don't own the game themselves.
Far Cry 4 will be available starting November 18 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
