The Sims 4 Mac Release Date Coming, Game Will Likely Contain At Least The October And November PC Updates

The Sims 4 has been out on PC since early September, with talk of new features and content not included in the original game already well underway. The first of three major updates has already hit, in fact, but what about a Mac version?

EA confirmed that The Sims 4 for Mac is in fact in development, buried briefly in the bottom of the October update announcement, but had little to say in terms of a time frame or details. The next free patches are coming in November and December, and will of course include the all-important pool.

The October update added ghosts for your families, as well as content such as Star Wars costumes and more Sim eye color choices. November will bring on the long-awaited pools, and the December update will introduce more career paths and rewards.

Now, depending on when the Mac version finally launches, it may have some or all of these features. Given that the version is still in development (and the outcry against their absence from the original release) I would imagine that the pool content will be included. The October Halloween content might not exactly be timely by the time the Mac version launches, but that would probably mean it would be included as well.

There's no indication from EA about when to expect the Mac edition, or even when they'll reveal its release date. The developers had only the following to say: "we know our players on Mac are looking to hear more. We are working on it. When we have more to share, we'll bring the news to you right here." You heard it, folks--check back here or on the game's website for any updates.
