GTA San Andreas For Xbox 360 Now Confirmed, Boasts 720p And Achievement Support

GTA San Andreas Xbox 360 Version Now Confirmed, Boasts 720p And Achievement Support

The rumors are true: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is headed to Xbox 360. A leaked list of supposed achievements for the title has been circulating and first hinted at the re-release, which Rockstar has now confirmed.

The Last Of Us Game Of The Year Edition Announced For PS3

There had been an Xbox Originals version of the title on the Xbox Live marketplace, which just disappeared. This was done in preparation for the new title, which will run in 720p and offer achievement support. It will be available October 26 for $14.99.

The new version will be released through Xbox's Games on Demand, but save files for the old Xbox Originals edition will not be compatible. Rockstar explains:

Free Version Of Xbox Music Cancelled, Only Subscription Service Will Remain

"Please note: The Games on Demand version of San Andreas is not compatible with the Xbox Originals version. Save files will not transfer from Xbox Originals. Owners of the Xbox Originals version will still have access to the old version on their consoles and through their download history, with the option to purchase the new version to experience the added features on a new save file."

The title is already available on PS3, but is more similar to the Originals version and does not possess the graphical upgrade. It's possible this is coming, too, but so far only the Xbox version has been mentioned. The launch will correlate to the game's 10th anniversary--all the more reason for a re-release!
