Smite MOBA Dev Talk Shows New Goddess Nox In-Engine, Highlighting The Character's Mage-Killer Kit [VIDEO]

Smite has been rolling out new details about the upcoming goddess Nox, the latest of which is a Dev Talk video that shows off the goddess of night's animations in an in-engine testing room.

The animations for Nox aren't final, but it's nice to be able to see her 3D model in action after a couple days of only having some of her concept art to look at. The demonstration video focuses on showing off Nox's kit and her abilities that excel at taking down other ability-focused mages. Her first ability is a brief shield that mitigates ability damage for a short period. It doesn't lessen damage from auto attacks, though, so look out for physical punishers while running around as Nox.

Nox's second ability is a ranged raven that shoots out, does damage and applies both a silence and a brief mark to enemies it hits. The raven pierces enemy fighters, so it can hit several gods in a row if aimed correctly. Nox's third ability is a ranged attack that damages in an area of effect, causing more damage to enemies that are marked by Nox's second ability. This AoE ability is on an impressively short cooldown – about three seconds – making it a common and powerful move for Nox players. Needless to say, these two abilities will make up a strong combo and an easy way for Nox to rack up some quick kills if timed right.

Finally, Nox's ultimate shoots out in a straight line and attaches to the first god it hits. Not only does Nox's ultimate cause some damage to the attached god, it also affects what happens when that god casts an ability. Casting an ability while tethered by Nox's ultimate will do damage to the caster and speed up some of Nox's cooldowns. This tether lasts for a few seconds, but it can be broken early if the attached god can get 55 in-game feet away from Nox.

Nox's official video reveal, complete with in-match footage, should be on the way shortly as the Smite team readies its next patch.
