Halo The Master Chief Collection Xbox One Bundle Announced For Japan, Will It Come To Other Regions?

Xbox One Halo Master Chief Collection Bundle Announced For Japan

There are already several Xbox One bundles available, including the recently announced Assassin's Creed Unity and Sunset Overdrive discount offers, but a Master Chief Collection deal is possibly the most exciting yet.

Unfortunately for most potential buyers, it seems such a bundle is only announced for Japan currently. Twitter account Lifelower first pointed out the image, which he claims was provided by Microsoft Japan. The bundle can in fact be seen here on Microsoft's Japanese site as part of a promotion.

This undoubtedly begs the question from most fans about if or when an Xbox One with The Master Chief Collection will be available in their regions. At this point we simply don't know, though Microsoft has already unveiled a special edition Master Chief Collection bundle for Brazil in 2015, as well. Word on a European or North American version of the offer, on the other hand, is nowhere to be found.

One might think such a bundle is a no brainer in those regions given Halo's popularity, but therein lies the rub--fans of the series will likely buy the game regardless, meaning Microsoft does not need to offer a bundle. Brazil and Japan are not Xbox's most successful regions, so offering a special deal to push hardware and software sales is more necessary than it is in, say, the U.S. That's not to say the bundle won't be coming for certain, but prioritizing the other regions does make sense. The Xbox One is doing well, but plenty of potential customers still don't own the system, and it lags behind Sony--a deal like this in the U.S. could very well help tip the scales.
