Smite MOBA New Video Helps Players Learn To Use The Recently Updated Spectator Mode's Interface

Become A Better Smite Spectator With A New Tutorial Video

As Smite has become more and more popular as an online game, the developers at Hi-Rez have introduced changes not just for the game itself, but for the spectator mode as well. The second most recent patch introduced a whole new collection of features and functions for players who just want to sit back and watch a game of experts or friends, and a new tutorial video, which you can watch below, has been posted to help these spectators learn how to navigate the new interface.

Players can start spectating by finding a friend in their list who's in a game and selecting "Spectate" from the menu that drops down when you click them. You can also view replays by going into players' profiles and selecting an old match. The video notes that "live" replays are never truly live and are, rather, on a three-minute delay.

The actual spectator UI has a wealth of information that spectators can access with just a click or two. Always visible are the gold counts for both teams as well as stats for how many towers and phoenixes are still standing. Flanking the sides of the screens are little character icons that show each player's buffs, remaining health and mana, and if their ultimate ability is ready to cast. Clicking on any of these characters can open up a window that shows that character's complete set of items and abilities, so you can watch this closely if you want to see how a pro player builds a god that you like to use.

Like the in-game HUD, the display in spectator mode can also be customized on the fly thanks to Smite's comprehensive HUD editor.

So much more match information is available through Smite's spectator mode. You can either watch the video to learn what else the revamped UI has to offer or just leap into a spectator game yourself and start clicking buttons to see what they do.

Smite is free to play for PC.
