We're now two weeks away from being able to help Ajay Ghale make his glorious return to Kyrat in Far Cry 4, and a new trailer is highlighting the kind of people who will try to manipulate us the moment we get there.
Far Cry 4's Soundtrack Is Getting Some Help By A Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer
Ajay is a native of the Himalayan state of Kyrat who was raised in America by his mother. His parents were leaders of a revolutionary movement in Kyrat, and the locals who never left are still looking for Ajay to pick up where they left off.
As the new story trailer shows, Ajay's simple trip back to Kyrat to scatter his mother's ashes ends with him being heavily armed and fighting off all different kinds of enemies and factions as different leaders in the area fight to bring him to their side and give their cause legitimacy. Throughout the game, the player will have to make several decisions on which characters to ally with and which to leave behind. The game has advertised that these choices will help shape the story, as opposed to Far Cry 3, which just had one choice at the end that did little more than funnel the player into one of two different endings.
Far Cry 4 Gets A Last-Minute Preorder Bonus
The trailer also shows off a little bit of Far Cry 4's gameplay, including new additions like the windsuit and environmental hazards (Ajay is able to shoot a precipitous snow bank, causing a mini avalanche to fall on an unsuspecting enemy). All of this is set to a more dramatic cover of the 60s hit "Born to Be Wild," a song accustomed to being used in advertising.
Yesterday, Ubisoft announced that Cliff Martinez, film composer and former drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was a collaborator on the game's soundtrack along with some of Ubisoft's own audio team.
Far Cry 4 will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC systems starting November 18.
