Latest Stronghold Crusader 2 News: Patch Adds New Skirmish Map, Balances Changes, Stat Sheet And More To Strategy Title

Stronghold Crusader 2's Latest Patch Adds New Skirmish Map, Balance Updates And More

Firefly has released a new patch making several content fixes and even adding a new map to their strategy title Stronghold Crusader II.

Top 5 Things We Want Announced At Blizzcon 2014

The new skirmish map is titled The Breath of Life. It lacks the panache of, say, the fan-made Minas Tirith map from a week ago, but the title is also a song in the The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers so the game is still two for two with Middle-Earth references. It may also refer to the moment when God imbued Adam with "the breath of life", but I like my explanation better.

Strategy titles rely on a razor's edge of stat balances. Players are always looking for the best matchups and intrinsically know the strengths and weaknesses of every unit in the game. To better assist players in crafting their forces, Firefly has released a new stats page which details the stats for every building and unit currently in Stronghold Crusader II. Check it out here.

Civilization: Beyond Earth - Orbital Layer Rundown

Several balance changes have arrived for the following maps and missions: Close Encounters map, Isolation: Desert Heat Trail mission, Hope Springs: Way of the Warrior Trail mission and the Trebuchet's damage has been halved, because we cannot have nice things.

You can read the full update here. A little tweak there, a little fix here. You can download Stronghold Crusader II from all sorts of places. There will be paid DLC content in the future, mostly optional enemy AI, but the majority of DLC will be free to download to all.
