Microsoft has released a positive report on the current state of the Xbox One, announcing that the console is approaching 10 million units sold to retailers following a large increase over recent weeks.

A statement from Microsoft revealed that major exclusive software releases including Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Sunset Overdrive combined with multiplatform titles such as Assassin's Creed Unity and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare to deliver tripling sales compared to the week prior to November 2.
Many of these popular titles have been bundled with the consoles at discount, resulting in the Xbox One leading "generation eight" consoles (presumably he PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One) in sales for the past two weeks in the U.S., according to Microsoft. The 10 million systems sold, it's worth noting again, are not the number purchased by consumers, but sold through to retailers-at least some portion are almost certainly still on store shelves.
The price drop associated with the bundles brought the console down to $349 from its usual Kinect-free $400 price point, with some Black Friday deals now offering the system for even less. Microsoft is also offering a trade-in deal, where an Xbox 360 or PS3 and $250 will also get you a new Xbox One. Xbox Corporate Vice President of Marketing, Strategy and Business Yusuf Mehdi is proud of the progress the console has made:
