Goat Simulator Patch 1.2 'Goat MMO Simulator' Trailer Is The Greatest Thing Since Screaming Goats: Features Running Microwaves [VIDEO]
No one would call Coffee Stain Studios' Goat Simulator a perfect game. It's kind of buggy and lacks any real value beyond 'let's make a game about goats!' But sometimes, one crazy idea is all you need. The people have been vocal in their support and even pitched some ideas to the devs. One idea in particular reached their ears and voila, may I introduce Goat MMO Simulator.
Yes, that is right. All the fun, mindless destruction of 2014's silliest game of the year, now ensconced within the trappings of an MMO. World of Goatcraft, if you will. Though I imagine Blizzard's lawyers would be none too pleased by that.
Coffee Stain Studios has released a trailer highlighting the new content coming via free update in Patch 1.2. The update will arrive this Thursday, November 20. True to the absurdity of the original game, the trailer has its tongue firmly planted in cheek. It even comes complete with fake movie trailer voice guy.
I especially like the moment when the 'lazy developers' simply click a few boxes to add MMO support and like magic, a fantasy world appears. Admittedly, I would love to see a Goat Simulator MMO in the 'Grim and Dark' style and especially the 'Yarn' motif. Perhaps both, if that is allowed.
The 'Login Queue Time' box, while never checked, confirms my suspicions that MMO companies do have complete and utter control over that process.
If you have not picked up Goat Simulator, head on over to Steam right now and fix that. The game is only $9.99 and the update comes free. The game is also available for iOS and Android, with an Xbox one port on the way. No word when support for the patch will come to those, but we can hope soon.
Some people looked at Goat Simulator and asked 'Why?' We look at it and go 'Why the hell not?'
