There are a lot of games available on the App Store. A lot. More and more are released each day, so it can be easy to be overwhelmed. Thankfully, a few of the apps worth owning have gotten a recent Black Friday markdown.

Still Haven't Bought WoW, Diablo III Or Starcraft II? Blizzard's Having A Big Sale

So, you've gotten an iPhone 6 as an 'early Christmas' present to yourself. But what to put on it? Here are eight of some of the best deals to keep you away from relatives this weekend:

Joe Dever's Lone Wolf - now free on iOS platforms. The first chapter of the new gamebook/rpg is out and is getting rave reviews all over. We here at GameNGuide love us some text-based, on-the-go storytelling and recommend checking it out. After all, the only thing it will cost you is storage space.

Game Of Thrones Telltale Adventure Releases Next Week!

Talisman - the classic Games Workshop board is now on sale for iOS devices for $.99. One whole dollar! The digital edition utilizes the official 4th edition rules. Play as any of 14 characters as you journey through a perilous realm in search of the powerful Crown of Command. A simple, family-friendly dice game that should delight and entertain all weekend long.

Kingdom Rush Series - the original Kingdom Rush and its sequel, Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, are on sale for iPhone for $.99, with an HD Frontiers version for phones and iPads for $2.99. We have spoken at length about the trilogy capper, Kingdom Rush: Origins and cannot stress that if you are a fan of tower defense titles, there is no better series out there than Kingdom Rush.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP - now celebrating five years on the app store, you can pick up the audio-infused adventure title for $1.99. "Traverse a mythic little realm, use a sword to do battle & evoke sworcery to solve mystical musical mysteries."

The Witcher Adventure Game - just released for iPad, the digital version of the Fantasy Flight game is worth more than its $5.99 price tag. Need something to tide you over until Wild Hunt arrives in February? Happy Black Friday to you. Not exactly on sale, but the value is perfect. Read all about it here.

The Banner Saga - the hit indie strategy title has been reduced to $4.99 for iPad and iPhone. Journey across a barren, frozen Norse country as you and your band of companions attempt to stop the invasion of the terrible Dredge. Features 25 unique playable characters, a chilly mature story ripped straight out of Game of Thrones and a deep tactical tree, fans of titles like Final Fantasy Tactics will have a new on-the-go obsession.

Republique - the first chapter is available for $1.99. The game is unique stealth title set in a future dystopian surveillance state in which you must guide a desperate woman to safety using only the cameras and computers you have access to. A bit like Five Nights At Freddy's, but without the horror. Chapters 2 and 3 are available for purchase in game.

Thomas Was Alone - the critical success story, which utilizes little more than polygons to tell a strangely moving tale, is now $2.99 for both iPhone and iPad.

These should hold you over for at least the next 72 hours. So grab some leftovers, lock the door and settle in. It's going to be a long one.
