Godus Releases For Android Devices: Mobile God Game Hits Google Play For Free After Success On iOS

It's Tough To Be A God: Godus Releases For Free On Android

Godus, the game that lets you actually play god as you sculpt a world and the people who live there, has spread to Android devices as the free-to-play god game hits Google Play.

Square Enix Has A New F2P Tactical RPG Out

The relatively new god game from genre creator Peter Molyneux has found plenty of success on iOS devices, racking up an Editor's Choice award and an average 4.5 stars over 50,000 user reviews. Now, through a partnership between Godus developer 22cans and serial mobile publisher DeNA, Android users can step into the shoes of a god as they literally shape the world of their followers.

In Godus, players can sculpt a landscape that will then become inhabited by followers. As these followers grow and advance through the stages of humanity, the player can either assist them by granting them miracles or get in their way through surprise meteor storms or forest fires. The Android version of the game also comes with social integration through Facebook.

“Our goal when we set out to create Godus was to provide gamers with a captivating and deep gameplay experience that constantly grows and evolves," Molyneux said in a release. "We’ve learned an incredible amount in the first three months of the game being available to the world on the App Store. So we are happy to say that the version of Godus today on Android devices and iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is one step closer to fully realizing our vision for the game."

Godus is available as a free-to-play title for both Android and iOS.
