Halo 5 Guardians Beta Video: Watch One Hour Of Straight Gameplay Footage Here

Halo fans were able to catch the first glimpse of Halo 5: Guardians beta live gameplay at HaloFest when some pro teams scrimmaged to show off the new title. The stream didn't last too long, but don't worry--an hour of footage from the event has been posted online.

Destiny Expansion The Dark Below Exclusive PlayStation DLC Revealed

The gameplay video comes from the Ready Up Live channel (via Polygon). The game is played by YouTuber Greenskull, who had plenty of hands-on time at HaloFest to capture this experience what you see below.

Greenskull left out any commentary, so the video is only the game sounds after his introduction. This allows us to get a few pieces of information, such as automated callouts when picking up the sniper and when an enemy is spotted. This is actually a great addition to the series--it mimics the callouts professional and serious players use by naming specific map locations when an enemy is seen.

The gameplay looks good visually, though it's definitely not the traditional Halo experience (which we already did know from the previous footage). There's definitely some Call of Duty influence in there, and it appears to play a bit more like a military shooter than past Halo games, but change was inevitable. The Master Chief Collection has taken care of keeping the past experiences alive, and Halo 5: Guardians has a new audience to appeal to. Enjoy the footage below (and Greenskull's dominant gameplay) and let us know what you think.
