Classic NES titles will be making their way to the Nintendo 3DS in the Ultimate NES Remix, dropping tomorrow, December 5. Wii U owners will be able to join in the fun with the simultaneous retail release of the NES Remix Pack, putting new spins on old favorites.

The Ultimate NES Remix brings classic Nintendo titles like Super Mario Bros. 3, Kid Icarus and Metroid back to modern consoles, but the game isn't just full of straight ports. 3DS players will be able to play these games in new ways. For instance, players can bring characters like Link and Samus into the world of the Mushroom Kingdom or try their hand at a special, high-speed version of Super Mario Bros.
Ultimate NES Remix also comes with online leaderboards so you can brag to your friends list (or the whole world if you're good enough) about your best Excitebike times. Some of the top leaderboard scores will even come with a replay button, allowing you to watch the masters speed through Nintendo's classics. You might even be able to pick up some tricks and tips along the way.

“Even decades later, NES games are once again making a big splash this holiday season,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, in a release. “Whether you’re buying gifts for the fan in the family who fondly remembers the NES, or introducing these classic Nintendo games with a twist to younger players, Ultimate NES Remix and NES Remix Pack make great retro-flavored stocking stuffers.”
Ultimate NES Remix will be available in stores and on the Nintendo eShop on December 5 for $29.99. Purchases of the game even include a free Famicom theme for the 3DS. Wii U owners can pick up the NES Remix Pack, a bundle that includes the console's previously digital-exclusive NES Remix and NES Remix 2, in stores the same day for $29.99.
