Some of the highlights of this week's offerings include Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry, the standalone expansion to Assassin's Creed Black Flag that stars the slave-saving Assassin Adèwalè, and Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept, an expansion to Guerrilla Games' first-person shooter that served as one of the PlayStation 4's launch titles.

Sony has also announced a new collection of movies that will be available for cheap on PSN, and these deals will actually last until December 29. All five of the currently available movies in both the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit franchises are now on sale for $9 each in high definition. You could also pick up the standard definition versions for $7 each.

Finally, Sony announced a special promotion just for this week. Until Tuesday, PlayStation players can send $60 to their PS Store wallet through PayPal, and Sony will throw in a $10 bonus for their troubles.
