Tis the season for winter updates. Developer Firefly Studios has just released a new and extensive update to their medieval castle simulator Stronghold Crusader II. The update finally adds the long rumored Steam Workshop support and even some original Stronghold Crusader maps. It also knocks the game’s price down by 33%.
Clash Of Clans Winter Update Sneak Peeks!
While the game came with a custom map builder, the infrastructure for sharing them was limited to various Stronghold Crusader II forums. The new update streamlines the process and allows players to share their creations by uploading them to the new Workshop page. The page currently has only about 40 or so map designs, but more are sure to come.
Also available on the Workshop page are six classic Stronghold Crusader maps. Each were voted on by members of the community and uploaded recently with all new HD graphics and improved gameplay mechanics. “Playable for the first time in 3D, these new maps are completely free for existing players as part of the Winter Update.”
Civilization: Beyond Earth Patch Updates The Health System
The pack includes the following fan favorite skirmishes: North Vs South, The Great Euphrates, A Friend Indeed, The River, The Ford Across The River and Green Belt. You can find them all HERE.
The update also includes new player customization options. You can now tailor the multiplayer experience to your playstyle. Like walls? You can enable doubling up. Don’t like it when rampaging slaves torch all your fields? You can disable fire. The multiplayer ramifications to this are mighty, as you can now handicap yourselves into disabling various strategies and tactics when competing. Makes you a better commander.
Stronghold Crusader II is available on Steam for $33.49, a 33% discount. The holiday pricing won’t last long, so be sure to pick it up if you have not already.
