Apple has released a new patch for iOS devices, one that addresses a couple of bugs for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It also fixes an issue that caused missing ringtones, and Apple has provided a way to get those ringtones back.

Some iPhone users have been experiencing a bug where, after they had purchased ringtones from iTunes, those ringtones would be mysteriously removed from their device. With iOS 8.1.2, that issue should be cleared up. Apple has even created a page on its website where iPhone users can head to get all of their ringtones back safely onto their device.
This update is for all devices that are able to update to iOS 8.

Apple's last iOS 8.1 patch was mainly to improve performance on older devices that were trying to run the company's latest mobile operating system. iOS 8.1 itself was released a little more than a month ago, officially enabling Apple's new Apple Pay cardless payment service. It also allowed more connectivity than ever between iPhones, iPads and Macs running the new OS X Yosemite.
Apple has also started seeding development betas of iOS 8.2, which is supposed to make iOS devices compatible with the upcoming Apple Watch, rumored to be releasing as early as mid-February 2015. Apple has also released its WatchKit API to developers, so third-party programmers can start creating apps and interfaces for the 2015 smartwatch.
