They're Zombies. They're Vikings. They're 'Zombie Vikings', The New Game From The Creators Of Stick It To The Man

Vikings have come back in a big way. There’s Marvel’s Thor, a Norse god turned superhero. There’s the show Vikings, which finished its second season on History channel this past year. Yeah, vikings are in. So are Zombies. Zombies, in fact, never go out of style. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to mash-em together.

That someone is Zoink Games, the twisted minds behind last year’s Steam favorite Stick It To The Man! Their new game features both zombies and vikings and is called - wait for it - Zombie Vikings. Because sometimes you need to tell someone exactly what they're buying. They brought a new trailer along to show off some of the wacky animation and gameplay.

It should be noted that these are Vikings who are now Zombies, as opposed to a Plants vs Zombies-esque undead dressed up like a Norseman.

After Odin’s one good eye gets pinched by none other than Loki, old One - or rather, No - Eye raises four fallen Viking heroes and tasks them with retrieving his eye. In the four play “hackventure” similar to Golden Axe or Castle Crashers, assume the role of either Gunborg, Seagurd, Hedgy and Caw-kaa and create a somewhat putrid, but always entertaining posse that pillages the known world in search of the eye.

The game is penned by Zach Weinersmith, the genius behind one of the best webcomics out there, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

Zombie Vikings is due in July 2015, with a day one release on PlayStation 4 and Steam as an online multiplayer game. Watch the trailer below. And be sure to pick up Stick It To The Man! now available on Steam.
