Fly Me To The Moon Again. Second Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! DLC Pack Now Available And Removes All Those Messy Non-Violent Bits

Fly me to the moon (and back). The second of four planned DLC packs for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is out now.

The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodrome Assault features “all-new narrative content including appearances from veteran Vault Hunters Gaige and Axton, who recently returned to the Crimson Raiders HQ. While they were gone on a mission, they missed out on the events of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! and ask Athena to recount the story. Since they’re not the most patient badass Vault Hunters on Pandora, they just want an abbreviated version – only the juicy, violent stuff.”

The add-on pack is priced at $9.99. Players who forked over the $29.99 for the game’s Season Pass will get the new content for a little less.

However, all players can experience a third playthrough with the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode via a free update. “The free patch addition creates a more difficult challenge and adds the ability to reset campaign progress at any time, as well as enemies scaling up to your current level."

While I enjoyed my time spent on Elpis and its low gravity chicanery, it was not always the most enviable of adventures. There was too much time spent driving around and recovering from a particularly nasty death. The Holodrome Assault does away with all that nonsense and sticks you right into the action. Precisely the thing that Borderlands has done so well in the past.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is available now for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
