Nintendo Wii U Adds Crunchyroll Channel: Streaming Anime Comes To Nintendo System [VIDEO]

Crunchyroll Plus Nintendo Equals Perfection

Good news weeabos! Crunchyroll is coming to Wii U. On Christmas day while Team Xbox and PlayStation were having their holidays ruined by hackers (real dick move Lizard Squad) people who opted for the less popular Nintendo Wii U system were gifted with anime.

You're welcome, with love, from your buddy Nintendo.

For those who are unfamiliar with the service, Crunchyroll is a streaming service that has a crazy amount of licensed anime. Popular shows include One Piece, Sword Art Online, and Naruto Shippuden. No more crappy fan subs for you. This is the real deal.

Crunchyroll comes in two flavors. Free, which you can download the app for in the Nintendo eShop and start binge watching right away, and Premium. It's the same content, it's just to you faster. In some cases, episodes pop up on Crunchyroll an hour after they play in Japan.

Which is awesome until you realize that Japan is 12 hours ahead of us so realistically, you're probably not going to be up and/or available when those episodes air. But they'll be waiting for you when you get home! Or wake up.

The application is free and there's a two week free trial for a premium membership as well. The premium membership will also get you ad free viewing. You can sign up via the app or on the Crunchyroll website.

Check out Crunchyroll in the Nintendo eShop or online. Have fun with your anime and Super Smash Bros Nintendo players! The rest of us are envious.
