Nintendo’s house of horrors and misprints continues. Four new Amiibos have been spotted with defects, doubled parts or straight up missing pieces. American Horror Story: Freakshow? Nay, I dub thee Amiibo Horror Story.

With thanks to Nintendolife. The four figures come post-Amiibo crash of 2014, in which sellers were auctioning off various factory misprints for thousands of dollars. Much like the Tulip, Beanie Baby or housing market, the rare Amiibo underworld economy quickly burned out and the new items are seeing few - if any - bids.
It is as if the new car smell has come off the Amiibo.

Regardless of their actual dollar value, the figures are amusing as curios, if not necessarily figures in their own right.
The most impressive one is a horrifying Diddy Kong who has had his lower jaw removed as if in some twisted horror movie. He has no mouth and he must scream. An anthropomorphized monkey wearing a t-shirt and hat is one thing, but an anthropomorphized monkey wearing a t-shirt and hat without a jaw is the stuff of nightmares.
Meanwhile, another Samus up for bid on ebay hasn’t faired much better. During one of her ball transforms, she lost a foot. We assume this is a rarely talked about hazard of the job, but that’s gotta hurt.
And poor Princess Peach has had her feet screwed on backwards, which we can all agree makes existing fairly difficult. The auction has attracted no bids as of now. Go legless or go home.
Finally, Pit is dual-wielding up a storm but the buyers aren’t buying. Now, can we add this to Super Smash Bros?
As a reminder folks, we should show these Amiibos the same level of respect we bestow upon all Amiibos. Just because they’re missing a piece here or there does not mean they are worse. Just different.
