Nintendo has announced today that they will be offering a limited-edition bundle for the upcoming 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask that comes with a collectible Skull Kid figurine.

Legend Of Zelda For Wii U Offers Ever-Changing Open World

The bundle will launch the same day as the game and retail for $49.99, coming backed with both The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D game and the skull kid figurine. Considering that the game by itself will likely retail for $39.99, that's a pretty great deal.

The Skull Kid is the main villain in the game, with the events kicking off after he steals Majora's Mask. As with most people who suddenly attain great power he wields it carelessly, cursing the people of the land and sending the moon hurtling towards the nearby town.

That's the most innovative feature of the game- the inevitable impact of the moon means that you only have three days to save the world, which works out to about an hour of real time. Every three days the world ends, but Link is essentially immortal. Link can return to the beginning of the first day by playing his Ocarina, keeping the items he acquired in that short time and learning new songs that can manipulate time, change the weather, or even transform Link into different creatures. It's one of the first game to use rogue-like elements in that way, and your slow progress in saving the world feels even more earned since you're playing against a clock.

We here at GameNGuide have had many arguments about which is the best Legend of Zelda game of all time but one thing we all have to admit is that Majora's Mask could easily be the one. It's an incredibly underrated title, as you'd expect from anything with the bad luck to follow the legendary Ocarina of TIme , which defined a generation. Majora's Mask really is a masterpiece though, and Nintendo has never really tried experimenting with the formula as much with the games to come.

Unless something goes horribly wrong, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is going to be a required game in every 3DS owner's library, and now you can bring a little memento for your desk or shelves as well.
